Mano Lab & Maruthi Scan Centre Private Limited ("Mano Lab", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of every patient and visitor ("you", "your"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (the "Website") and in the course of providing diagnostic services at our laboratory or at your home (the "Services"), how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights you have over it.
This Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder (including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
By using the Website or availing our Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or share your information with us.
1.The short version
- Our Website does not require you to create an account, fill any form, or make any online payment. You can browse it without giving us any personal information.
- Bookings happen only over phone or WhatsApp. The information you share with us at that point (name, contact number, address, prescription) is used only to provide your test, scan, or home collection.
- Your test results are medical information and are treated as strictly confidential.
- We never sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers or marketing companies.
2.Information we collect
(a) Through the Website
The Website is informational. We do not collect names, phone numbers, health details, or payment information through the Website itself. Like most websites, our server and analytics tools may automatically record limited technical information - such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit - in an aggregated form that helps us understand how the Website is used and keep it secure. This technical information is not used to personally identify you.
When you tap "Call" or "WhatsApp" on the Website, you are taken to your phone's dialler or to WhatsApp. Any information you then share is governed by Section (b) below, and your use of WhatsApp itself is governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
(b) When you book or avail our Services
When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, email, or in person to book a test, scan, health checkup, home collection, or foreign medical examination, we collect only the information needed to provide that Service. Depending on the Service, this may include:
- Identity and contact details: name, age, gender, phone number, and (for home collection) your address;
- Health information: your doctor's prescription or referral, the tests requested, relevant medical history you choose to share (for example, medications, pregnancy, fasting status), your samples, and your test results and reports;
- Foreign medical examination details (where applicable): passport details, photographs, destination country, and visa or employer documents you provide;
- Communication records: messages you exchange with us on WhatsApp or by email in connection with your booking or report;
- Billing information: details of the Services availed and payments made. If you pay by card or UPI at our centre, the payment is processed by the bank or payment provider; we do not store your card numbers, PINs, or UPI credentials.
Health information, including test reports, is "sensitive personal data" under Indian law and we treat it with a correspondingly higher standard of care.
3.How we use your information
We use your information only for the following purposes:
- 1To register your booking and perform the tests, scans, or examinations you have requested;
- 2To collect samples (at our centre or at your home), process them, and generate your reports;
- 3To deliver your reports to you on WhatsApp, by email, or as a physical copy, as agreed at the time of booking;
- 4To contact you regarding your booking, sample, preparation instructions, or report;
- 5To raise invoices and process payments;
- 6To meet our quality, accreditation, and record-keeping obligations as an NABL-accredited (ISO 15189) laboratory, including internal quality checks;
- 7To comply with applicable laws, including reporting of notifiable diseases to health authorities where required;
- 8To respond to your queries, feedback, or complaints.
We will not use your information for promotional messages, health-camp announcements, or checkup reminders unless you have agreed to receive them. You may opt out of such messages at any time by informing us on WhatsApp, by phone, or by email.
4.WhatsApp communications and report delivery
Because WhatsApp is our primary channel:
- Your reports and communications will be sent to the mobile/WhatsApp number you provide at the time of booking. Please ensure this number is correct and belongs to you (or to a person you authorise, such as a family member). We are not responsible for disclosure resulting from an incorrect number provided by you or from shared access to your device or WhatsApp account.
- WhatsApp is a third-party platform operated by Meta. Messages on WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp's own terms of service and privacy policy, which we do not control.
- If you prefer not to receive your report on WhatsApp, tell us at the time of booking - you may collect a printed report at our centre or receive it by email instead.
7.How we protect your information
We adopt reasonable security practices and procedures appropriate to the nature of the information, including:
- Restricting access to patient records and reports to authorised laboratory personnel only;
- Password-protected systems for report generation and storage;
- Physical security of records and samples at our centre;
- Confidentiality obligations on all our staff;
- Verification of the recipient's number before reports are sent on WhatsApp.
While we take these measures seriously, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against events beyond our reasonable control.
8.How long we keep your information
We retain patient records, test results, and related documents for the period required by applicable law and by NABL/ISO 15189 record-retention requirements (a minimum of 2 years for routine reports, and longer where required for specific test categories or by law). After the applicable retention period, records are securely destroyed or anonymised.
9.Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:
- 1Access the personal information we hold about you, including copies of your own reports;
- 2Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information (for example, a misspelt name on a report);

- 4Withdraw consent for any optional use of your information (such as reminders or promotional messages), without affecting Services already provided;

Personal information of patients under 18 years of age is collected and processed on the basis of such parental/guardian consent, and reports of minor patients are shared with the parent or guardian.

The Website may contain links to third-party websites (for example, Google Maps for directions, or the NABL portal for certificate verification). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such third-party websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
